Problem Note 42468: The message "Error: Downloaded too few bytes for file..." appears during the SAS® Download Manager electronic software delivery download process
When you use the SAS Download Manager, the message "Error: Downloaded too few bytes for file..." might appear during the download process:
In addition, a corresponding SEVERE error similar to the one in the following example, might appear in the sdw.log file:
SEVERE: Failed to download file C:\SAS Software Depot\920_10w50\download\ inttech__92110_cd562__win__en__sp0__1\inttech__92110_cd562__win__en__sp0__1.ezip because we got too few bytes. Wanted 66812881 but got 524280
If you experience both of the above errors, contact SAS Technical Support. See SAS Note SAS KB0036210 "General information and troubleshooting for Electronic Software Delivery (ESD)," including the section "Information to Provide to SAS Technical Support." Use the steps in the note to provide additional debugging information. Be prepared to send the sdw.log and bootstrap.log files.
To work around this issue, perform the following steps:
- Stop the download process and then resume it. The download should proceed. You might have to start and resume the process several times.
- If Step 1 does not work, continue with the information provided above that is related to sending the sdw.log and bootstrap.log files to SAS Technical Support.
